Gas discharge tubes (GDT) use noble gasses enclosed in ceramic tubes to provide an alternate circuit path for voltage spikes.The ceramic envelope and with nickel connectors allow for high loads and Surging offers products that function at 20KA,40KA,50KA,60KA,100KA&150KA.The breakdown voltages of the devices have a wide range (up to 20% tolerance).Major applications are high frequency telecommunication lines,stations, security systems,HID and high quality Surge Protection Devices (SPD).
2052 SE90 Series Light Duty 3-Electrode Gas Discharge Tubes (GDTs) are specifically designed to protect telecommunications, industrial, and consumer electronics applications from transient surge voltages that may result from lightning strikes and equipment switching operations. These devices offer maximum surge ratings from 5-10 kA, low capacitance of ‹2pF max. and high insulation resistance of > 1 GΩ. Light Duty 3-Electrode GDTs feature a broad array of breakover voltage levels with Series 2056 offering a 90-600V range and Series 2052 GDTs with a symmetrical breakdown voltage range of 230-800V. A Switch-Grade Fail-Short option is available for 2056 Series
