Description:
The heart wood is a cream to pale tan colour. It is sliced to produce the crown and straight grained veneer. A well-defined growth ring gives this veneer a distinct grain pattern which is very desirable in office desking and architectural panelling. It has a good texture and finishes well. Available in different colours after a dying process. Some of the quarter cut veneers carry a fiddle back figure which can be very pronounced in a small percentage of logs. These veneers are often prized for architectural mill work in the USA.

Characteristics:one of the tallest European trees, fast growing with valuable heavy heartwood, shock resistant, highly elastic and so well bendable in different shapes, almost always straight and attractive coarse open grain, only few trees show curly or figured structures, easily workable with all tools, White Ash is also easily stainable and polishable
Wood color:h eartwoodtree with only little color difference between wide withish sapwood and lighter brown heartwood. Older trees partially feature - light to chocolate brown heartwood (Brown Ash) - clear alternation between light yellowish and darker brown to olive colored growth ring zones (Olive Ash)
