DZ43205 - Custom Tailgate Assist Shock
Tailgate Assist 1 Piece. This kit includes a gas strut and related hardware that allows your truck's tailgate to glide slowly and safely down on its own once opened. Parts are fitted specifically to work in conjunction with factory tailgate support cables for your make and model. Easy, no drill installation.

When you are carrying a lot of heavy items in both arms, the simple act of opening your truck's tailgate can become a cumbersome process. After pulling a release handle which may or may not work well due to loose or misadjusted linkages, juggling things around in your arms as you lower a heavy steel tailgate is awkward. If a package or the tailgate panel itself has ever slid out of your hands and fallen hard, you will greatly appreciate the Tailgate Assist kit from ours. It features one gas strut and related hardware that bolt easily in place that allow your tailgate to glide open slowly, safely, and gracefully.
Installation is straightforward. Using standard tools, simply unhook the driver's side tailgate support cable, then replace the original mounting bolts with new ones supplied in the kit designed for the gas strut. Once the support cable is reinstalled, your tailgate will latch tightly in place with no clearance issues or difficulty. we has tested and developed the gas strut and related components to heavy duty specifications to ensure many years of smooth operation, even in the most extreme of temperatures and the dirtiest of environments.
