Optical fiber attenuators are classified into the following four types according to the interface:
 
♦ SC fiber attenuator: applies to the SC fiber interface, which is similar to the RJ-45 interface, but the SC interface is flatter and the contact plate inside is a copper column.Fixed the attenuation power of the optical fiber attenuator is fixed, such as 1dB, 5dB, or 10dB. For example, the attenuation power of a -3 db optical fiber attenuator is 3dB. Such fiber attenuators are commonly used in telecommunications networks, fiber optic test equipment, local area network (LAN) and cable television (CATV) systems. Fixed fiber attenuator can be divided into line type and connector type.
 
♦ LC optical fiber attenuator: Applied to LC optical fiber interface, can be used to connect SFP module, adopts modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism, easy to operate, often used in routers;The connector optical fiber attenuator has the same appearance as the optical connector. The only difference is that the two ends of the connector optical fiber attenuator are male connector ports and female connector ports.
