The factory turbo on the Nissan TD42T and TD42TI engine is too small to efficiently flowthe exhaust gases, resulting in back pressure build up in the exhaust manifold.
Consequently the factory turbo is unable to deliver optimal power & torque at top end.The brand of turbocharger used in this turbo system is a Borg Warner (previouslySchwitzer) turbocharger which has been specifically matched to the engine it is beingbolted on to.
The ANS-AUTO Upgrade turbo delivers up to 20-25% more power over the factory turbo, asit is physically larger and therefore able to effectively flow the exhaust gases efficientlywithout losing power at low revs.

Note:Our aftermarket turbo system to suit the Nissan Patrol 4.2ltr upgrade kit has beendesigned with 2 1/2 or 3 " mandrel bent exhaust and perform best when purchased withthe upgraded exhaust, we provide a no exhaust option for those who have alreadyupgraded their exhaust system.

3. Instal:

1. Remove complete exhaust system, original turbo and small turbo heat
shield and Turbine Bracket.
2. Remove oil in pipe and drill out hole in 2 bolt plate to 9/64 or 3.5mm to
allow more oil to turbo then thoroughly clean, and reassemble.Oil inplate may have to be ground to fit past turbo mounting bolt.
3. Leave original turbo hose in place.
4. Remove cast air in pipe from original turbo and bolt to front of upgradeturbo.
5. Bolt on new turbo and connect oil inlet and outlet.
6. Fit 90° elbow to dump pipe, then engine pipe, muffler, 56° elbow,
Station Wagon 45° for cab chassis and finally tail pipe using
appropriate hangers and clamps.
7. Reconnect air cleaner pipe to turbo air in pipe.Replace original
breather hose with hose supplied
8. Connect to intercooler pipe using long 90° 2 inch aluminium casting
and turbo hose and clamps supplied.
9. Unlock primary fuel locknut on top of fuel pump and using 4mm Allenkey, move the screw clockwise half a turn.
10. Fit test boost gauge and pyrometer, check oil and water.
11. Start engine and allow it to idle for 5 minutes whilst checking for oil andair leaks.
12. Road or dyno test and adjust boost to 15 PSl maximum, at turbo (do
not exceed) and maximum pyrometer reading should not exceed 550°.
