1. Introuduction

The particulate trap can effectively reduce the emission of particulate matter. It first traps the particulate matter in the exhaust gas, and then oxidizes the trapped particulate matter to regenerate the particulate trap. The so-called filter regeneration means that in long-term operation, the gradual increase of particulate matter in the trap will cause the back pressure of the engine to rise, resulting in the decline of engine performance, so the deposited particulate matter should be removed regularly to restore the filter performance of the trap. There are two ways to regenerate the trap: active regeneration and passive regeneration. Active regeneration refers to the use of external energy to raise the temperature in the trap and make the particles ignite and burn. When the temperature in the trap reaches 550℃, the deposited particles will be oxidized and burned. If the temperature is less than 550℃, too many deposits will block the trap. At this time, it is necessary to use external energy sources (such as electric heaters, burners or changes in engine operating conditions) to raise the temperature in DPF and make the particles oxidized and burned. Passive regeneration refers to the use of fuel additives or catalysts to reduce the ignition temperature of particles, so that particles can ignite and burn at normal engine exhaust temperature. Additives (including cerium, iron and strontium) should be added to fuel oil in a certain proportion. Too many additives will affect the life of DOC, but if too few additives are used, it will lead to delayed regeneration or increased regeneration temperature.
