Description
UV CTP plates, also known as UV-sensitive CTP plates, are a type of printing plate used in the process of computer-to-plate (CTP) printing. These plates are designed to be sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light, which is used to create the printing image on the plate.UV CTP plates are made up of several layers, including a substrate, a photosensitive layer, and a protective layer.
The photosensitive layer contains a photopolymer that is sensitive to UV light. When the plate is exposed to UV light through a film negative or digital file, the exposed areas undergo a chemical change that makes them more receptive to ink.After exposure, the plate is placed on the press, where ink is applied directly to the plate. The ink adheres to the exposed areas, while the non-image areas remain free of ink. This process creates a printing image on the plate that can be used to produce high-quality prints.
