Description
A double layer CTP (Computer-to-Plate) plate refers to a type of printing plate used in the offset printing process. CTP technology allows for the direct transfer of digital images onto printing plates, eliminating the need for traditional film-based processes.
In the case of a double layer CTP plate, it consists of two distinct layers. The first layer is typically a thin coating of photopolymer material, which is sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light. The second layer is a substrate or base layer, which provides stability and support to the plate.
The process of creating a double layer CTP plate involves exposing it to UV light through a digital imaging system. The UV light selectively hardens the photopolymer material in the areas where the image is present, while the unexposed areas remain soft and soluble.
