Beryllium oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula BeO. It is amphoteric. It can react with acid and strong alkali. It is a white powder. It is mainly used in the manufacture of beryllium oxide, ceramics, glass, and can also be used for nuclear reactions. It can also be used as an organic reaction catalyst.

Applications:

It is mainly used in the manufacture of beryllium oxide, ceramics, glass, and can also be used as fuel and moderator for nuclear reactors, and as a catalyst for organic reactions.

 

Features:

Beryllium oxide ceramics have a high melting point and thermal shock resistance. Its thermal conductivity is similar to that of copper and silver, and it also has excellent electrical insulation properties. At room temperature, its thermal conductivity is about twenty times that of alumina ceramics. The heating of electronic products is the key to the service life and quality of the device, and beryllium oxide ceramics, because of its ideal thermal conductivity, can be used to improve the service life and quality of the device, which is conducive to the development of the device to miniaturization and increase the power of the device. Therefore, it can be widely used in aerospace, nuclear power, metallurgical engineering, electronics industry, rocket manufacturing, etc. Regarding the toxicity of beryllium oxide, it refers to the toxicity of soluble beryllium oxide. For us, beryllium oxide ceramics are sintered at 1650~1700°C to make a porcelain material, which is insoluble in acid and alkali. Therefore, beryllium oxide ceramics aren't poisonous.
