Brown Aluminum Oxide The Essential Abrasive For Precision Casting
Brown Fused Alumina, also known as brown corundum, is a highly versatile and durable refractory material. It is produced by fusing bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperatures, resulting in a brownish coloured product with high hardness and extreme toughness.
During the production process, bauxite is melted in a tilting electric arc furnace, creating a product with exceptional temperature resistance, erosion resistance, machinery strength, and thermal stability. This makes it an excellent raw material for the manufacturing of shaped refractories.
The unique properties of brown fused alumina are attributed to its high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low coefficient of linear expansion, and corrosion resistance. These characteristics have been verified by dozens of fire-proof production companies, with the product exhibiting no explosion, chalking, or cracking during application.
In particular, brown fused alumina offers a much higher cost-effectiveness compared to traditional brown corundum, making it the ideal aggregate and filler for fused alumina refractories. Its versatility and durability make it the perfect choice for a wide range of refractory applications.
High Hardness: Brown corundum has a Mohs hardness of 9.0, second only to diamond, making it extremely hard and highly resistant to wear.

High Density: With a density of 3.90g/cm3, brown corundum has a high mass and is significantly denser than most other materials.
