Castability: Brass has good casting performance and can produce parts of various shapes and sizes by casting. It is especially suitable for the production of products with complex shapes.
Hot working performance: Brass has good processing performance in the heated state and can be processed by hot rolling, hot forging, etc., and there will be no problems of overheating and grain growth during the heating process.
Cold working performance: Brass also has good cold working performance and can be processed by cold rolling, cold drawing, cold forging, etc., and the strength and hardness will increase during the cold working process.
Work hardening: Brass is prone to work hardening during cold working, that is, the strength and hardness of the material increase with the increase of deformation degree, but the plasticity decreases. This property can be restored by subsequent heat treatment.
Weldability: Brass can be welded by conventional welding methods, such as oxyacetylene welding, argon arc welding, etc., but the temperature needs to be controlled during welding to avoid zinc evaporation.
Surface treatment: The surface of brass can be treated by various methods, such as plating, anodizing, spraying, etc., to improve its appearance or increase its corrosion resistance.
