The mud is pumped and pressurized by the mud pump and then is pressed into the hollow drill rod through the faucet above the drill rod, flows downward into the drill bit, and is ejected from the nozzle to cool and lubricate the drill bit; Debris from the bottom of the well is taken out of the wellhead through an annular channel outside the drill pipe. after settling in the settling tank, mud flows back to the mud tank for recycling. Some rotary drilling rigs are equipped with mud pumps and air compressors at the same time.
