Earth drilling tools in previous HDD projects can not meet the requirements of pipe line construction as the rock appears more and more frequently. A rock drilling tool is eagerly needed. Downhole motor which is used in oil and gas well directional drilling is introduced into HDD projects and plays a more and more important role in nowadays HDD rock drilling projects.
