The exhaust gas turbocharger consists of a turbine and a compressor. Before the engine lubricating oil pressure is established, the engine must be kept at idle speed to ensure that the supercharger is fully lubricated.
Pre-lubricate the turbocharger. Pre-lubricate after servicing.
Before stopping the engine, gradually reduce its temperature and speed from the maximum value to prevent carbon deposits from forming on the supercharger bearings or the intermediate housing.
Avoid prolonged idling which may reduce compressor efficiency.
