How the muffler works:
The muffler uses the appropriate combination of the cavity and the tube to achieve two functions to muffle the sound.

This point merges with the second forward-propagating sound wave that has not been reflected, and the two are equal in amplitude and an odd multiple of 180 degrees in phase, so they interfere with each other and cancel each other out.
