optical link fault alarm is a optional configuration of fiber media converter, when starting the optical link alarm function, if the fiber path fails, the media converter will automatically block the connecting of electrical port, resulting link down with the uplink network equipment , so that can get the transmission fault instructions from the network management platform of switch.
2, twisted pair link fault alarm is also an optional configuration. When twisted pair link alarm function is started, if there is failure on network, the fiber media converter will automatically block the connecting of optical port, lead to link down with the uplink network equipment, so that indication of failure can be gotten from the management platform of switch, and it also can prolong the life of optical modules.
3, independent network management system of fiber media converter is based on the standard SNMP network management protocol, it provides graphical management and monitoring functions for all fiber media converters. It is composed of system management graphical interface, management module and interface module. Each agent can manage up to more than 2000 pieces 16 slot media converter chassis.
