Description:
Chopped strand mat (or CSM as it is often known) is the most widely used of all composite reinforcement materials.
Short strands of glass are randomly scattered and bound to create a mat which can then be wetted out with resin and used as a general purpose reinforcement for traditional fibreglass (GRP/FRP) moulds or parts.

Application:
The standard form of Fibreglass used in hand lay up and when used with polyester resin produces strong, stiff and tough laminates for Boats, Water tanks, Industrial and Domestic applications. Resin use is 2.25 times the weight of glass used, so for 1 sq. m of 450gm mat then 1kg of resin will be needed.
