Application
The plug valve is a straight-through valve with a quick switch. The rotary sealing surface has a frictional effect during the movement, and can completely prevent contact with the flowing medium when fully opened, so it can usually also be used for a medium with suspended particles. Plug valves are best suited for use as a shut-off and closing medium as well as for shunting, but can sometimes be used for throttling depending on the nature of the application and the erosion resistance of the sealing surface. Since the movement between the sealing surfaces of the plug valve is wiping, and the contact with the flowing medium is completely prevented when fully opened, it can also be used for the medium with suspended particles, which is an important characteristic of the plug valve.
