We melt alloys in our EAF/VIM/VAR/LF/VOD furnaces and subsequent ESR refining processes can be employed for the most critical alloys. The ingots are then hot-worked by rolling or forging, followed by mechanical finishing such as peeling, turning, or cold working on one of our draw benches. According to customer request, we can employ special heat treatment procedures, drawing, straightening and sawing to length to achieve particular dimensions and tolerances. You also have the opportunity to specify both standard as well as modified chemical analyses.

INCONEL alloy X-750 (UNS N07750/W. Nr. 2.4669) is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy used for its corrosion and oxidation resistance and high strength at temperatures to 1300°F. Although much of the effect of precipitation hardening is lost with increasing temperature over 1300°F, heat-treated material has useful strength up to 1800°F. Alloy X-750 also has excellent properties down to cryogenic temperatures.

Application

Inconel X-750 is used to fabricate flat springs and sheet metal stampings that are used in very high temperature applications such as jet engine parts, nuclear power plant

applications, heat-treating fixtures, forming tools, and extrusion dies.

•Gas turbine rotor blades, wheels and bolts

•Airframe thrust reversers and hot-air ducting systems

•Rocket engine thrust chambers

•Heat treat fixtures and cryogenic vessels, springs and fasteners

Standard and Grade

INCONEL alloy X-750 is designated as UNS N07750 and W. Nr. 2.4669. The alloy is stated in NACE MR-01-75. Available product forms are sheet, strip, plate, round bar, flat bar, forging stock, hexagon, wire, tubing and extruded section. Specifications include the following:

•Rod, Bar and Forging - ASTM/ASME SB637; ISO 9723-9725; SAE AMS 5667-5671 5747; EN 10269

•Plate, Sheet and Strip - ISO 6208, SAE AMS 5542 and 5598.

•Wire - BS HR 505, SAE AMS 5698 and 5699.

Mechanical Properties

INCONEL alloy X-750 may be given any one of a variety of heat treatments. Each develops special properties and puts the product form in the best condition for its intended application. In all conditions, alloy X-750 is resistant to oxidation up to 1800°F. The most often used heat treatments have been incorporated by the Society of Automotive Engineers in their AMS specifications* for various product forms.

Inspection

In order to ensure consistently high levels of material and processing properties, we have our own fully equipped laboratory. We closely monitor your order throughout the production process right from the raw material, via the interim stages to the finished product. We employ the very latest technology for chemical analysis, metallography and mechanical testing. With the help of our expert partners, we can also offer non-standard testing methods.
