1. Composition and performance

Hastelloy C22, also known as Hastelloy C-22, is a solid solution strengthened nickel-based alloy. Its main components include nickel, cobalt, chromium, tungsten, molybdenum and other elements, and contain a small amount of alloying elements such as aluminum, titanium and nitrogen. The specific ratio of these elements gives Hastelloy C22 excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature strength.

In terms of corrosion resistance, Hastelloy C22 can resist the erosion of a variety of corrosive media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, and mixed acids of oxidizing acids containing chloride ions. Its high molybdenum and chromium content makes it resistant to chloride ion erosion, and the addition of tungsten further improves its corrosion resistance. In addition, Hastelloy C22 also has excellent resistance to oxidizing water media and can maintain stable performance in a variety of harsh environments.

In terms of high temperature strength, Hastelloy C22 also performs well. Its tensile strength is as high as 860MPa and its elongation reaches 40%, which enables it to maintain sufficient strength and stability in high temperature environments.

2. Processing Technology

Hastelloy C22 has good processing performance and can be processed and formed by a variety of methods. In terms of cutting, it can be cut using tools such as shearing, sawing or cutting machines. In terms of forming, it can be achieved by hot working (such as forging and hot rolling) or cold working (such as cold rolling, cold drawing and cold heading).

In terms of welding, Hastelloy C22 can be connected by conventional welding methods such as TIG welding, MIG welding and arc welding. However, special attention should be paid to prevent oxidation and contamination during the welding process to ensure the quality and performance of the welded joint.

In addition, in order to improve the surface properties and extend the service life of Hastelloy C22, it is also necessary to perform surface treatment on it. Common surface treatment methods include grinding, polishing, pickling and electroplating. These treatment methods can improve the surface finish and corrosion resistance of the alloy and increase its service life in harsh environments.

3. Application fields

Hastelloy C22 is widely used in many fields due to its excellent performance. In the field of aerospace, Hastelloy C22 is used to manufacture key components of aerospace vehicles such as aircraft, rockets and satellites, such as turbine blades, combustion chambers and solar panel brackets, due to its high strength, high corrosion resistance and good processing performance.
