Why Do We Need Laser Safety Glasses? Laser Radiation Hazards
1. Thermal effects are the predominant cause of laser radiation injury, but photochemical effects can also be of concern for specific wavelengths of laser radiation.
2. Moderately powered lasers can cause injury to the eyes.
3. High-power lasers can also burn the skin.
