Low Power Consumption
Another important advantage of LED PCBs is that they have very low power consumption, in every single case.
It is for this reason that LED bulbs have started to become the new CFLs, and therefore are being widely promoted everywhere. In general, the need for power is cut down by as much as ten times, when one uses an LED in comparison to other sources of lighting.
The lowering of power consumption in turn will have a large-scale impact on the overall energy efficiency, and eventually, add up to cost savings.
The cost savings in turn may not be so apparent in small units, but when used on a large scale such as that of street lights or large buildings, it quickly becomes apparent.
Also to be added is that the reduction in power consumption rarely comes at the cost of brightness. In nearly every case, the degree of brightness available is about the same or even more than traditional forms of lighting.
