According to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Lane Control Signs are most commonly used for reversible-lane control, but are also used in nonreversible freeway lane applications. Use Lane Control Signs to communicate instructions of lane use and keep drivers safe from serious accidents on roads and highways.
