Founded in 1981 by engineer and pianist Paolo Fazioli, Fazioli Pianos is renowned for its exceptional grand and concert grand pianos. The collaboration between Fazioli and Westbank resulted in the Butterfly Piano, inspired by the design of Vancouver's The Butterfly project by the late architect Bing Thom. This 7ft Model F212 Fazioli pays tribute to Thom's vision, incorporating vivacious curves and drawing inspiration from Alexander McQueen's Shipwreck dress. Ideal for intimate venues like piano bars and hotel lobbies, the Butterfly Piano is a harmonious blend of art and music.
Commissioned by the client, QZY Models embarked on the task of creating a 1:10 scale miniature gift model of the iconic Butterfly Piano. Meticulously studying the actual piano's production process, the team translated insights into a detailed 3D model and drawings. Employing disassembled 3D printing, the production involved manual polishing, assembly, and three rounds of coloring to achieve perfection. The finished product allows for the opening and closing of both the piano cover and keyboard cover, capturing the unique shape and elegant temperament of the actual piano.
