Island peak climbing is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful trekking and peak climbing hub in whole of Himalaya. Located in the Everest/Khumbu region of eastern Nepal, Island Peak climbing is perfect for adventure lovers, enthusiasts of energetic and challenging treks. Standing at the maximum altitude of 6,180m, from here we get the most stunning view of Everest and other eastern Himalaya.Island Peak also known as Imja tse is clearly seen as a pyramid of ice and rock peak in Nepal. The mountain itself is the extension of the South Ridge of Lhotse Shar separated by a small col. The ridge rising to the south from this point leads to the summit of Island Peak. Island Peak climbing in Nepal not only provides an enjoyable climb but also provides some of the most spectacular scenery of Himalayas in the Khumbu region.The best time for venturing this adventure are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). It is feasible to climb even in winter months but not everyone has high threshold for cold, so these months are suitable in every sense.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu (1300m). Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Kathmandu valley sightseeing & trek preparation. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Morning flight to Lukla (2800m) and Trek to Phakding (2600m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazar (3440m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 05: Namche Bazar (3440m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3870m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4389m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 08: Dingboche Acclimatization day. Overnight at Tea house Lodge.
Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 10: Lobuche to EBC- Ghorakshep (5190m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 11: Gorakshep to Pheriche (4910m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 12: Lobuche to Chhukung (4730 m)- via Kongma La Pass (5535m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 13: Chhukung to Island peak Base Camp (4970m). Overnight at tented camp.
Day 14: Pre climbing training and preparation day for the summit. Overnight at Tented camp.
Day 15: High Camp to Island peak (6183 m) & back to Base Camp (4970 m). Overnight at tented camp.
Day 16: Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche (3800m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 17: Pangboche to Namche (3440m). Overnight at Tea House / Lodge.
Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2830m). Overnight at Tea house / Lodge.
Day 19: Flight back to Kathmandu (1400m). Overnight at hotel.
Day 20: Departure
