First, the definition of the gasket:
A gasket is a part that is padded between a connected piece and a nut. Second, the role of the gasket:

3. The gasket is a mechanical seal between two objects, usually used to prevent pressure, corrosion, and natural thermal expansion and contraction between the two objects. Since the machined surface is not perfect, the gasket can be used to fill the irregularities. The gasket is usually made of sheet material such as mat paper, rubber, silicone rubber, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass or plastic polymer (such as Teflon). Gaskets for specific applications may contain asbestos.
4. Generally, the screw with the nut is fixed in the through hole. The diameter of the through hole is generally slightly larger than the screw. Therefore, a gasket is needed to increase the contact area. Protect the parts. Lock parts, reduce pressure, and protect parts and screws.

Commonly used spring washers are available in sizes M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10.M12, M14, M16. These specifications are more common. The spring washer national standard GB/T 94.1-87, the standard specifies a standard spring washer with a size of 2-48mm.
