The Fiber Optic Termination Box serves as a termination point for feeder cables, connecting them to drop cables within FTTX communication network systems, particularly in the FTTH field and ODN solutions. This box is designed to distribute, protect, and manage fiber or cable connections. It is made from either ABS or ABS+PC, with the latter offering enhanced strength and durability. Termination boxes can be categorized into two types based on size: plastic termination boxes and desk boxes. Plastic termination boxes, which are larger and designed for outdoor environments, can accommodate PLC splitters, LGX splitters, and CWDM/DWDM configurations (ABS box type). This versatility allows plastic termination boxes to function not only as distribution points but also as optical division units. Typically, for fiber counts of fewer than 12 cores, mini-type splitters are used, while configurations with over 24 cores may utilize either box-type or mini-type splitters or CWDMs. The sizes of the 2, 4, and 6 core boxes are generally similar. In contrast, desk boxes are primarily intended for indoor use, providing convenience for residents moving into new homes by facilitating easy fiber access. The core configurations for desk boxes typically include 1, 2, or 4 cores, and the material used is ABS+PC, ensuring durability and reliability.
