Borax decahydrate is a chemical substance with the molecular formula of Na2B4O7 · 10H2O. Borax decahydrate is translucent colorless crystal or crystalline white powder, odorless and tasteless. When it is heated to 350-400 ℃, it loses all crystal water, which is called anhydrous borax. (Na2B4O7), density 1.72g/cm3; It is soluble in water, glycerin and alcohol. Borax decahydrate aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, and it is colorless glass when melted. Borax decahydrate has bactericidal effect and is harmful to human body when taken orally. In chemical composition, it is sodium tetraborate containing 10 water molecules.
