Product Introduction:
BARENATE HCR, derived from castor oil, is a substance obtained through hydrogenation. Castor oil, extracted from the seeds of the castor plant, is a natural vegetable oil. After hydrogenation, the unsaturated fatty acids in castor oil are converted into saturated fatty acids, resulting in a more stable, solidified oil with enhanced oxidation resistance. The product appears as a white to light yellow powder, chunk, or flakes, with limited solubility in methylene chloride, very slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water.
In cosmetics, hydrogenated castor oil is typically used as an oil phase matrix. Ordinary plant oils are prone to oxidation and rancidity, affecting the long-term stability of the final product. In contrast, BARENATE HCR (Hydrogenated Castor Oil) is resistant to oxidation and rancidity, with its oil properties remaining unchanged over time. It is suitable for use in products that require plant oils or liquid paraffin. As a waxy solid, it significantly reduces the amount of oil or oil phase needed, contributing to a smoother, more refined texture in creams.
