Corrosion Resistance
600 alloys for all kinds of corrosive media have corrosion resistance. The composition of the chromium alloy has better corrosion resistance than that of the alloy in the condition of 99.2 (200) and 99.2 (alloy 201). At the same time, the high nickel content of the alloy in reducing conditions and alkaline solution has good corrosion resistance, and can effectively prevent chloride - iron stress corrosion cracking. Alloy 600 in the organic acid, acetic acid, acetic acid, formic acid, stearic acid has good resistance to corrosion and has moderate corrosion resistance in inorganic acid. The high purity water used in a nuclear reactor at a time and two cycles has excellent corrosion resistance. 600 especially outstanding performance is to be able to resist dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride corrosion, application temperature of 650 degrees C. At high temperature, the annealed and solid solution alloys have good antioxidant properties and high strength in air. The alloy can also resist ammonia and carburizing atmosphere, but in the oxidation and reduction conditions, the alloy will be part of the oxidation of the media (such as green).

| Feature | Hastelloy B-2 has outstanding resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. It also has significant resistance to reducing environments like sulfuric, phosphoric, acetic acids and other nonoxidizing media. Hastelloy B-2 has excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and knife line and weld heat-affected zone attack. Hastelloy B-2 has poor resistance to oxidizing environments, therefore, it should not be used where ferric or cupric salts are present as these salts may cause rapid corrosion failure. |
