Definition
Rectangular fin tubes are heat exchanger components where rectangular-shaped fins are attached to the outer surface of a base tube. These fins increase the surface area for heat transfer, improving the overall efficiency of the heat exchange process.These special rectangular fins are typically welded, extruded, or mechanically bonded to the base tube. The fins are arranged in a rectangular pattern, providing a structured and efficient design for heat dissipation or absorption.
The base tube is usually made of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, or copper alloys. The fins are often made of materials with high thermal conductivity, such as aluminum or copper, to enhance heat transfer.
Characteristics
The fin is divided into two symmetrical half pieces. The tube wall is pressed down from both sides, and resistance welding is used to weld on the pipe wall with a certain gap left in the middle.
Two circular tubes can share a group of fins, called double tube H-shaped fins, or a single tube H-shaped fin can be placed in the middle.The heat exchanger composed of H-type finned tubes is closely arranged and the tube bundles are arranged in order.

However, this structured design may create a higher pressure drop in the airflow, requiring more energy for ventilation. And the process of attaching rectangular fins can be more complex and costly compared to simpler fin designs.
