Common surface treatment processes for stainless steel include mirror finish, sandblasting, coloring, wire drawing, acid washing, etc.
1 Mirror Surface
To improve the surface roughness of mechanically processed stainless steel materials and stainless steel surfaces treated with spot welding, electric welding, sub arc welding, and heat treatment, it is necessary to polish the products to obtain a highly smooth and glossy appearance, meeting the purpose of surface finishing of stainless steel products. According to the complexity of stainless steel products and different user requirements, methods such as mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, and electrochemical polishing can be used to achieve mirror gloss. 2 Sandblasting treatment
Sandblasting can be divided into two types: dry and wet sandblasting. Liquid sandblasting generally uses a mixed medium of water, glass beads, or quartz sand. The mixed medium is propelled by compressed air to spray onto the surface of stainless steel at high speed. 3 Coloring treatment
The colorful colors not only enhance the decorative and artistic properties of stainless steel, but also enhance its corrosion resistance and wear resistance. At present, the production process of colored stainless steel is relatively mature, and there are various methods for coloring the surface of stainless steel. The methods for coloring the surface of stainless steel include chemical oxidation coloring, electrochemical oxidation coloring, ion deposition oxide coloring, high-temperature oxidation coloring, and gas-phase cracking coloring. The phenomenon of mutual interference of light is the fundamental reason for the color development of colored stainless steel, and the physical parameters such as the thickness, chemical composition, microstructure, surface smoothness, and incident light of the oxide film layer of colored stainless steel determine the color tone.
