The blood lancet is a needle with solid tri-bevelled point, which is made of high-quality medical grade stainless steel 304 grade owing to its excellent corrosion resistance. Blood lancets, also called blood collection needles, are used to puncture the patient's skin and obtain a capillary blood sample for testing, typically from the fingertip, heel, or earlobe. The blood lancet is usually used to collect small drops of blood for point-of-care tests (glucose, hemoglobin, etc.). These lancet needles are commonly used for diabetes management or pediatric heel sticks. As for lanct point types, we can customize according to clients' specific drawings. We can not only manufacture blood lancets, but also manufacture other hollow medical needle tubes, such as injection needle tubes, insulin needle tubes, blunt needle tubes, blood collection needle tubes, dental needle tubes, indwelling needle tubes, spinal needle tubes, and so on. We produce medical needle tubes comforming to ISO9626 standard.
Design & Components:
1.Tip:
Solid, ultra-sharp needle or blade (not hollow) to minimize pain and tissue damage.
Bevelled or spear-shaped tip for precise, controlled penetration.
Typical needle gauges: 23–33G (thinner gauges = less pain).
2.Body:
Plastic casing or holder for safe handling.
Spring-loaded mechanism in reusable lancing devices for consistent depth control.
3.Depth Settings:
Adjustable penetration depth (e.g., 0.5–2.5 mm) to accommodate skin thickness (adults vs. children).
Types of Lancets:
1.Disposable Lancets:
Pre-sterilized, single-use devices.
Often come in individual foil wrappers.
Example: Standalone lancets for glucose meters.
2.Reusable Lancing Devices:
Pen-shaped holders that accept replaceable lancets.
Allow adjustable depth and reduce waste.
Example: Accu-Chek FastClix.
3.Specialty Lancets:
Heelstick lancets: Wider blades for newborn screening (e.g., collecting blood from a baby’s heel).
Safety lancets: Retractable or shielded blades to prevent needlestick injuries.
