Sintered titanium felt is a kind of porous material created from tiny titanium fibers that have been flattened down and annealed to provide a smooth, flat surface ideal for use in a variety of industrial applications. In the production of hydrogen and fuel cells, sintered titanium felt is used as a Liquid/Gas Diffusion Layer (LGDL) in stacks, where it helps to distribute the reactant gases and provide electrical contact between the catalyst layer and the bipolar plate or current collector assembly. The material's high corrosion resistance, even under highly acidic and humid conditions, makes it an ideal material for use in these applications.
