Heavy Tungsten alloy Pipes are also called tungsten alloys because they weigh more than twice as much as iron or steel. High specific gravity tungsten alloys are usually refractory metals with two-phase complexes composed of W-Ni-Fe or W-Ni-Cu or even W-Ni-Cu-Fe. Some tungsten alloys add rare earth and/or other metals, such as Co, Mo and Cr. Tungsten heavy alloys have a very high melting point, density is twice that of steel, and it is more than 50% heavier than lead.

Tungsten heavy alloy has a series of excellent properties, significant ratio: general proportion of 16.5-18.75g/cm3, high strength: tensile strength of 700-1000mpa, strong ray absorption capacity: 30-40% higher than lead, thermal conductivity of 30-40% higher than lead. Large coefficient: 5 times of die steel; Low thermal expansion coefficient: only 1/2-1/3 of steel, good electrical conductivity; Good weldability and machinability.
The tungsten content in tungsten heavy alloys varies between 90% and 98%, which is responsible for their high density (16.5 to 19.00 g/cc). Nickel, iron and/or copper are used as metal adhesive substrates to hold brittle tungsten particles together, making the tungsten alloy ductile and easy to work. Ferric nickel-nickel is the most commonly used additive with a ratio of 7Ni:3Fe or 8Ni:2Fe (by weight).
