Product Description

Magnesium oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MgO. It is magnesium oxide and an ionic compound. It is a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in nature in the form of periclase and is the raw material for magnesium smelting.
Magnesium oxide has high fire-resistant insulation properties. It can be transformed into crystals after being burned at a high temperature of more than 1000°C, and it becomes dead-burned magnesium oxide (magnesia) or sintered magnesium oxide when it rises to 1500-2000°C.

Calcination method

The magnesite is calcined at 950℃ in a calcining furnace, and then cooled, screened and crushed to obtain light-burned magnesium oxide.
Soda ash method: First, dilute bittern with water to about 20°Be and add it to the reactor. Slowly add a clarified soda ash solution of about 20°Be under stirring, and react at about 55℃ to generate heavy magnesium carbonate. After rinsing and centrifugal separation, it is roasted at 700-900℃, crushed and air-selected to obtain a light magnesium oxide product:
5Na2CO3+5MgCl2+6H2O→4MgCO3·Mg(OH)2·5H2O+10NaCl+CO2↑
4MgCO3·Mg(OH)2·5H2O→5MgO+4CO2↑+6H2O

Carbonization method

Dolomite is calcined, digested and carbonized to obtain basic magnesium carbonate, and then thermally decomposed, calcined, crushed and air-selected to obtain light magnesium oxide.
Ammonium Carbonate Method
The ammonium carbonate method removes impurities from the mother liquor (magnesium ion content is about 50g/L) after seawater salt production, mixes it with ammonium bicarbonate in an appropriate proportion, and performs precipitation reaction. Then, it is centrifugally dehydrated, dried, calcined, crushed, graded, and packaged to obtain the finished light magnesium oxide product:
5MgCl2+10NH4HCO3+H2O→4MgCO3·Mg(OH)2·5H2O+10NH4CI+6CO2↑
4MgCO3·Mg(OH)2·5H2O→5MgO+4CO2+6H2O

Magnesium Oxide exhibits a strong affinity for moisture and carbon dioxide, forming magnesium hydroxide or magnesium carbonate upon reaction. This makes it an effective material for applications requiring reactivity and absorption capabilities. Its thermal stability and basic nature also allow it to function as a refractory and neutralizing agent.
